A little bit about me: My name is Philip Papalia and I own the company. I started working on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, New Jersey when I was around nine years old. In my early teens I worked and partnered with a gentleman who had game concessions on that boardwalk. I had built a stand from scratch known as a nickel pitch on the 500 Block of that boardwalk. The stand turned out very nice, the counters were covered in plush and it was very brilliantly flashed. Not to blow my own horn but it turned out to be very attractive and was a bit ahead of its time considering this was an era when arcades had wooden floors, pinball and skeeball machines. Now I had a problem! The stand looked so nice and the only aprons that one could get back in those days were drab olive canvas. I decided that was almost an eyesore relative to the rest of the stand. I got a pot, dyed some trim/binding, got some fabric, designed a few styles of aprons and had my neighbor who was a seamstress sew up some very colorful two-toned aprons.
Other operators on that boardwalk saw them and decided they would like some. Before long I was making aprons for most of the concessionaires on that boardwalk. Then people from other areas like Point Pleasant, Atlantic City, Ocean City, Wildwood also wanted these aprons. Next I traveled along the east coast on vacation with my then girlfriend and her son and along the way I would deliver aprons to places like Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, Ocean City, Maryland, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and so on. Now I found myself being referred to by everyone as "The Apronman". I found myself being and doing just that. I went on and continued to exhibit at local and international trade shows and presently have aprons in ALL fifty states and over ninety countries around the globe.
I have always taken pride in my work and strived to make the best aprons possible. I believe that I accomplished that long ago! I know how to make a cheap apron with inferior materials and said that is NOT for me. I can not believe that anyone who takes pride in what they do, would have it any other way! I believe in recent years other companies have acquired my aprons however, and perhaps sent or took them to other countries like China, Taiwan and perhaps said - make an apron that looks just like these. Did they accomplish the task? You bet! One problem - they left the qualilty out!!! They are made with things like single fill duct, cheap/weak thread, cheap polyester binding, etc. Below is a CLASSIC example of this! I am sure some people saw them and thought they were getting a bargain at aprons that looked fairly similar at half the price. I have personally seen hundreds of times and heard from customers how these fell apart ten days later. I have thousands of customers from coast to coast stop by at shows at which I was an exhibitor, and tell me they still have my aprons in use from ten years ago.
In our company name is the word "custom". I know and believe many people on the planet would attest that word is well deserved and extremely fitting! For over forty plus years my company has been building the strongest and finest aprons anywhere. Certainly that is a bold and biased statement but I would be willing to bet that if you asked ANY of our hundreds of thousands of customers that use and have used our aprons over the years - they would tell you just that. If you want cheap aprons, shop around you will find them. If you can find a place where you can buy a new Rolls Royce at the price of a Kia - please let me know.
I personally oversee all operations and and aspects of my business. I take my business and yours very personally and live daily by the old saying, "if you don't take care of the customer someone else will."

The picture below is of an apron that was produced in China ( IMAGINE THAT! ) This apron is about two ( 2 ) weeks old and as one can readily see falling apart!!!
